Find the trigger that will take us to a ‘small change’, which itself becomes a habit and a routine …
BJ Fogg studies already cited in The Impact Equation C. Brogan & J. Smith are included in the book Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products  N. Eyal
They focus on the notion of ‘trigger‘, which, combined with both the motivation of the individual and new knowledge, provide new behavior. In World Wide Rave: Creating Triggers that Get Millions of People to Spread Your Ideas and Share Your Stories by D. Meerman Scott is the viral angle that is privileged “Create triggers That encourages people to share When a product or service. solves someone’s problem or is very valuable, interesting, funny, or just plain outrageaous, it’s ready to be shared “

Whatever the angle and lens, find a trigger to initiate a new behavior.

On target to launch an ESN should not we reduce the effort of our target? Ensure short accompaniments, targeted for toper immediate benefits?
Porter simplicity it may be present towards an ESN in an existing instance of a manager, explaining the levers of ESN in the daily employee … No big bang.
Test #, the @, versioning of files, search engine, customizing the interface, and explain the benefits to qualify his profile. In summary, remain concrete and concise to get micro-anchor tests and micro-resolutions.

It remains for us to become true … influencers ‘Influencers Are Those Who Understand leaders how to create rapid, Profound and sustainable behavior change‘ in Influencer: The New Science of Leading Change

Combine 2 items

  • Today, small startups teams can profoundly change behavior by guiding users through a series of experiences I call ‘Hooks‘. The more often users run through these hooks, the more likely they are to form habits
  • The Hook Model describes an experience designed to connect the user’s problem to a solution frequently enough to form a habit
  • The Hook Model has 4 phases : trigger, action, variable reward, and investment
  • The Fogg Behavior Model is represented in a formula, B = MAT, which represents that a given behavior will occur when motivation, ability, and a trigger are present at the same time and sufficient degrees
  • Fog describes 6 ‘elements of simplicity’ the factors that influence a task’s difficulty. These are
    • Time, how long it takes to complete an action
    • Money, the fiscal cost of taking an action
    • Physical effort, the amout of labour involved in taking the action
    • Brain cycles, the level of mental effort and focus required to take an action
    • Social Deviance, how accepted the behavior is by others
    • Non routine, according to Fogg, ‘How much the action matches or disrupts existing routines’
  • For any behavior to occur, a trigger must be present at the same time as the user has sufficient ability and motivation to take action
  • To increase the desired behavior, ensure a clear trigger is present, then increase ability by making the action easier to do and finaly align with the right motivator
  • Variable rewards is the third phase of the Hook Model, and there are 3 types of variable rewards : tribe, hunt, and self

Small Move, Big Change
 – C.L. Arnold

  • microresolution is a compact and powerful commitment designed to nail a precise behavioral target exactly and deliver benefits immediately
  • Microresolutions focus on doing, not being. Being different follows, rather than precedes, deliberate action
  • A microresolution is design to reform a precise autopilot activity and requires little willpower to succeed
  • Microresolutions foster self-awareness and expose the hidden attitudes that thwart success
  • Experiencing the power and benefits of microresolutions taught me that significant and permanent behavioral change can be achieved with intense, targeted focus; that targeted focus leads to valuable and actionable personal insights; that limited resolutions can produce immediate and sustainable benefits; and that succeeding at a reasonable resolution is more transforming than failing at an unrealistic resolution annually
  • ‘The greatest revelation of our generation is the discovery of human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives’
  • So this is the work : identify a discrete change in behavior that will make a difference, and drill that behavior with single – minded purpose until it becomes second nature
  • In other words, the more decision making your resolution requires, the less resolve you’ll actually have left to follow through, because decision making and self-control draw on the same limited mental resource
  • Small Move, Big Change is focused on buildings behaviors that run on autopilot, where decision making is rarely involved
  • As a rule of thumb, keep resolutions that are practiced daily for at least 4 weeks and resolutions practiced less frequently for 8 weeks before making new ones
